Self Portrait Challenge - { dancing }

Dancing does not have to take place in the company of others for it to be meaningful...

Dancing does not have to be in an important place for it to be special...

It should, however, move your heart, your soul, your spirit - otherwise, it is just exercise.

For the final week of Self Portrait Challenge's "Headless" theme.

Self Portrait Challenge - Contrast {shoes}

These are the most opposite shoes I own and use on a regular basis. There are so many differences between the shoes themselves, yet so many similarities between the actual activities they are used for.

To see other photos embodying contrast, head on over to Self Portrait Challenge.

Ballet Recital '08

This year, our ballet studio's recital theme was "Long Ago & Far Away" - nursery rhymes and fairy tales.

The ladies' class (my class) danced a lullaby song with our children (who wore pajamas). Here you see me in red, with the children of all the ladies dancing around me: Hannah is leading the line, followed by a younger Hannah, Nicole, Claire & David.

Then the nursery rhymes & fairy tales began...

(l to r: Claire, Emma, Isabella)

Nicole's class dancing as Beauty (with no Beast, heehee)
(l to r: Natalie, Nicole, Carter)

Self Portrait Challenge - Political

Left vs. Right?

Isn't it better when both work together
toward a common goal
when something meaningful is accomplished?

Self Portrait Challenge - What I Wear #1

I have been donning this garb since I was four.

Looking in this mirror as I practice can be intimidating,
seeing all my flaws, and yet
Ballet has taught me so much more than just how to dance.

Confidence.
Taking care of my body has far-reaching effects.
The harder you work, the better the results.
Keep trying.
