Self Portrait Challenge - Floating

My favorite thing to do in the pool:

float on my back for as long as I possibly can.
This means until one of my kids splashes me :)

I love

the feeling of the water holding me up like a liquid mattress

the sun shining on me

the way the sounds of the world are muffled for just a little while - replaced by the calm swish of the water by my ears

And yes, this is the kids' pool in my backyard, but the feeling's still the same as it is at the "real" pool :)

Fascinating picture, I love the blues in it and you look so happy! I also love your interpretation of fire last week, a smokey jalepeno is definitely full of fire.

sigh.. considering I am sitting here burning up - that description was just enough to make me want to run screaming out to the park - to fling myself into the pool fully clothed.

I love the muffled, swishing sound too - lovely observation. Great pic.

I *need* to be floating in water.

OOooh. I love floating too and I'm rather good at it. I love when everyone else has left the pool and I have it to myself. My father has come up to close the pool a few times and found me floating aimlessly. He says it always scares him even though I'm face up- not down. Floating like that is one of the perks of being "fluffy".
