the final three

I was surprised (but relieved) to see DeAnna let Graham go last week - especially after what I had said in my last Bachelorette post! I think the three guys left are very strong contenders. I was pleased to see the preview was just a hype to get people to watch for drama - the families were overall quite nice to DeAnna. I loved Jesse's parents!

So, tonight, she's down to the final three. Who do you think it's going to be?

===================

Post show comment: I am weirded out by the whole "spend the night with each guy" thing. This is the one thing about this show that really bothers me. It complicates things so much more - look at how hurt poor Jeremy was, and I believe it was because he gave his whole self to her. If he had held that part of himself back, and the other guys, too, then they wouldn't potentially get so hurt when she has to let them go. I firmly believe she could make a wise & well-informed decision without the intimacy of spending the night (and all that is implied to occur but never shown). Besides, how weird would it be to know that this girl you're dating for potential marriage is also going to spend the night with two other guys before she decides??

You never cease to suprise me Rebekah! I didn't know you watched this show. I only watch when it gets close to the end...

Haha, Debbie :) Like I said in the last post about this, I don't usually watch - but DeAnna is so sweet & after she got so hurt on the Bachelor I really wanted to see her find happiness :)

I don't watch this show because of the whole sharing-the-girl/guy with everyone aspect.

Whether it's the Bachelorette or the Bachelor, there is way too much intimacy with everyone. Whatever happened to not giving all of yourself away to every guy/girl you date?

You are right...feelings are more easily hurt when they've given themselves body and soul.

I don't think it's a good message to send to young adults and kids.

I agree. As a "batchelorette" myself, I understand the reality of what happens when people are attracted to one another when dating. Not everyone gets physically invlolved, but a LARGE percentage of couples do. To me, it should be DeAnna's business if that happens - they shouldn't make it part of the show. Besides, I can't imagine being a family member of any of the show's cast while watching those particular episodes...In addition to the message that's being sent, it would be awkward and embarrassing!

I could not agree more with your assessment of the whole "Spend the night as a couple thing"

It's really gross and although the show is ultimately really silly and unrealistic, that just makes it feel so much more sleazy.
